IMDb.com changed their message format again. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I updated the movie manager and data should be imported correctly now.

FYI: If the edit screen is not displaying correctly go to your Tools > Options > Miscellaneous settings and make sure there is no erroneous data in the Additional Genre Types, Media Types, Languages, Countries, or Locations. If there is, just delete the garbage.

IMDb.com changed their message format again. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I updated the movie manager and data should be imported correctly now.

FYI: In case you run into the following problem. I noticed that I could not delete a movie from the Demo database. A couple movies had been added while the IMDb.com message format was wrong for the title. To correct this I had to edit those movies and modify the title so it did not have erroneous title information. After saving it, I was able to go back and delete movies again.

Fixes have been made to handle the following changes.
  • IMDb.com changed their message format again so the director, actors, and MPAA rating were not being imported correctly.
  • The latest browsers have increased security by not allowing javascript access to the file path when browsing to a movie file on your computer. IE does allow you to add Cinemapremiere.com to your trusted sites, however, Firefox does not so a new Path field was added to the Add and Edit screens.
The Personal Server is almost ready to be re-released with all the same modifications that have been made to CinemaPremiere Online.

I am temporarily removing the Personal Server from CinemaPremiere until I can test the new IMDb.com changes. My development server crashed and after recovering, I keep getting 'Permission Denied' when trying to test the Personal Server and at this time I don't have time to resolve the issue. When time permits, I will get it working again and allow the Personal Server to be purchased and a new update released containing the following:
  • Changes have been made to IMDB_Functions.php (but not tested) to accommodate IMDb.com's changes.
  • Changes have been made to edit.php, edit_imdb.php, and edit_asin.php (but not tested) to fix a problem with the title popup select menu on the edit screen when running Firefox.
  • An update has been made to add the info balloon to all search result screens.

For those of currently running the Personal Server, please accept my apologies and use CinemaPremiere Online to add movies to your database.
  • You may need to import your Personal Server database before adding movies and export it when done. Learn How
  • You can easily add movies from a text file. Learn How

IMDb.com changed their message format again! For some reason, they now send back the movie data in two different formats. At least I think it is only two. I had the hardest time figuring out why it worked sometimes and not other times. I still have no idea why, for the same movie, they sometimes send it back in a different format. Maybe just to make it hard for programs like this one to capture their data. Any way, it is fixed in the online version. The Personal Server will have to wait since I am having technical difficulties on my PC with 'permission denied' when trying to test the personal server. Windows doesn't make it easy. It was working fine until a few updates ago. I will investigate it further when time permits.

Modified the import imdb code to remove html data from the plot and to remove quotes from the title.

The server that hosts Cinema Premiere updated Cinema Premier with a new php.ini that did not support the global variable $HTTP_POST_VARS. All programs that used that variable (edit, search, etc.) ceased to function properly. Modifying those programs to use $_POST instead of $HTTP_POST_VARS resolved the problem.

Permission Denied when trying to import database. Bluehost support put a new php.ini file in the public html folder to fix that problem but it caused another problem. I had to edit the php.ini to set magic_quotes_gpc = Off for cinemapremiere to work correctly.
When an exact match was found at IMDb.com the program was returning not found at imdb.com. IMDb.com previously returned their domain name in the movie data as http://us.imdb.com, but they changed it to http://www.imdb.com. I had to make that same change in config.inc.php
For those who own the CP Personal Server, an update to it will be released soon. In the meantime, if you wish, you can edit config.inc.php and change $config['imdbServer'] to 'http://www.imdb.com'.

IMDb changed their movie page format causing the release year not to be imported. This has been fixed.
For those who own the CP Personal Server, an update to it will be released soon. In the meantime, if you wish, you can edit IMDB_Functions.php and in function parsedata under //Year you can search for HREF="\/Sections\/Years\/ and replace it with HREF="\/year\/.

The Cinema Premiere website is getting a makeover. Much testing has been done, but if you run into any problems, please email Support with a description of your problem.
The online movie manager has not yet been modified and should look and function as normal.

The cover image was not being imported correctly from the Cinema Premiere Personal Server when the cover image was gotten from Amazon when the movie info had been gotten from imdb.
The newer versions of PHP that use FastCGI instead of php5isapi was causing the CP Personal Server some problems. A new php.ini has been released to resolve a few of those problems and a new release/update (3.11) for the Cinema Premiere Personal Server is now available to resolve some of the other problems. The cover image issue was also resolved in 3.11.
1/11/10
When setting the Search Defaults in Options to search for movies "Not Seen", it was displaying all the movies seen instead of not seen. This has been fixed.
A new release/update (3.10) for the Cinema Premiere Personal Server is now available.
11/21/09
Amazon.com implemented a new signature authorization requirement to retrieve data from their server. This has now been implemented on Cinema Premiere Online so you can again retrieve movie information and update your DVD cover image from Amazon.com.
I have also increased 2 field sizes in the database to allow for user ratings of 10 and a run time of greater than 255 minutes.
A new release for the Cinema Premiere Personal server will be coming soon.
